At the end of April 2023, I was invited to take part in a small local market that took place on June 24, 2023. I was a bit worried about it since I had nothing ready, but It ended up being a fun challenge to conceptualize and create products for my booth in under two months. After a few weeks of planning my line of products, I decided to make greeting cards, card packs, and glass tumblers using my patterns, as well as some bumper stickers that I had been wanting to design for awhile.
Since I have experience working on/at tradeshows and beer markets, I wondered if this would be a similar experience. It was not! Local markets are very different. My biggest findings form this experience were about market culture, and good merchandising practices.
